TIMBER RATTLERS GAME

Brenda, Ed, Traci and the birthday Mom - Bonnie

No sausages here ~ eyeballs racing!  It was quite the site!

FANG ~ the mascot, hammed it up through the entire game!

Enjoying the game/actually talking throughout the game!
A great day for my sister's birthday.

A beautiful day for a baseball game.
Swing batter, batter, batter, batter...
The sun was out, the company was good, the picnic prior to the game was delicious!  It was my sister's birthday and it didn't rain until the end of the game ~ for this summer that was amazing!

COLLECTOR OF" STUFF" ON LAKE DRIVE IN MILWAUKEE

This is real...viewed on someone's yard in Cudahy, WI. I took the pictures late in the evening, so most are yellowish. Why the shark turned out---who knows?
From what I've read the owner just wanted to make Cudahy fun again.

My sister and I certainly enjoyed his yard.
A car buried in the front yard, propane tanks turned into cute little pigs, a shark greeting you as you turn into the garage ----
what more could a person want?

A mannequin rides a motorcycle — reportedly the first piece of what has become a large and unusual display in the Cudahy yard of Rick Serocki at 4531 S Lake Dr.

Always visitors on the back deck!
Mickey D would be proud.
How about a snowmobiler, year 'round next to your house?
Couldn't live without a skull, as tall as me, on the side of the house!
Oh, how about Big Boy on your roof?
Looking for a fun place to drive by? Look no further than

AN ARTIST ~ AT THE END OF A DEAD END ROAD

                SPECTACULAR SCULPTURES
What my sister and I found at the end of a dead end road was amazing!  We decided to take the day, set the GPS and follow it to Colgate, WI.
Why?  Well, one Sunday morning I was watching Outdoor Wisconsin and was fascinated by a place in Colgate, WI.
         Paul Bobrowitz, Jr.-Metal Sculptor
The show proved to be right/this artist has created a spectacular world of sculpting/in his own yard.
We totally enjoyed ourselves ~ driving through his creations ~ taking pictures ~ oohing and aahing at each and every turn of the head.

Some of the sculptures are comical.
           Some of them are abstract.

RIVEREDGE NATURE CENTER

Riveredge Nature         Center
Upon entering the grounds it is any other nature center. Parking, signs -directing visitors here or there.
Walking up the wooden sidewalk it becomes a little different.  Strolling back to see what it's all about~it's become different. The building is large, attractive and inviting, with the expansive deck  having a multitude of chairs to relax on. This all, overlooking the river, boasting gorgeous lily pads, birds of various species, a martin house and lovely
wild flowers, of many kinds.

Even though it rained shortly after we arrived at the Center, it was very pleasant.
We sat on the deck enjoying the afternoon and the view of 'Mother Natures' creations in front of us.

I will return to the Center to view the displays inside, as it was closed when we were there. Peering through the windows there seem to be some very educational exhibits.  In fact, this week will be the perfect time to return. Now~which day will be best?

Postscript to this blog:
I had to search and purchase a new laptop, as my old, trusty Thinkpad was having mega problems.
I have not posted for some time/as the old computer would no longer upload photos and the new one had me baffled as to how to post.
I'm taking lessons and learning a lot! I still need to explore all there is with this new system. Moving from one system to another is certainly an adventure!

MUSICAL NANCY

                        MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT

As I've said before, I don't collect antiques since I became one!  I still like to browse antique stores and sometimes Joe is with me.  I found this musical Nancy in Florida.  Not "needing" it -I passed.  Well, my sweet husband went back and bought it.  He gave it to me on my birthday/keeping it hidden for months. Luckily he hid it in his underwear and sock drawer. A place that, in our tiny houses, I don't frequent-EVER!

The cartoon Fritz Ritz, first appeared in the newspapers in 1922.  In 1938 Nancy, Fritz Ritz's niece, dominated the comic strip and the title was changed from Fritz Ritz to Nancy.
Nancy's best friend was a bald guy named Sluggo.

I remember my father telling me he liked the cartoon and named me Nancy, from the comics. I have had my own bald Sluggo for 22 years now!  The sweet guy that gave me this cute musical Nancy that plays the song - Second Hand Rose.

THE TOWN WE RESIDE IN ~ FOR THE SUMMER

WHERE WE RESIDE IN THE SUMMER MONTHS

West Bend, Wisconsin is a quaint town in the middle of Kettle Moraine country. A moraine is a land formation, created by the movement of a glacier.
This area is very beautiful, as most of WI is.

We plan on exploring the Kettle Moraine areas this summer. Starting with the Kettle Moraine scenic drive.
http://dnr.wi.gov/Org/land/parks/specific/kmscenicdrive/

The following pictures are of West Bend's downtown. Of course, not every store/and there are many/just a few places which would entice anyone to spend time exploring the town and stopping for a bite to eat at one of the unique restaurants found scattered throughout the main drag.

The downtown park is very attractive and invites you to "sit a spell," relax and watch the passerbys. On Saturdays the park area and Main St. are abounding with Farmer's Market activity.  The street is closed down and the joys of fresh produce are offered by local growers.

Great, old buildings grace the streets of West Bend and flowers spill out throughout the town.

The town continues and splits as you drive down the street.  Fun shops are here and there just waiting for one to explore. There are several more than I have posted here.  The corks and wine bottle display is featured in front of an Italian restaurant, which has made our list of places to return to in West Bend.

A creative sign on one of the downtown shops. This sign indicates where I am at, with this post, and future posts until I get an update on my aircard.
I feel like the turtle, in the race against cyberspace.  I WILL win ~ just need to figure out the problem with my computer!

BLAH - BLAH - BLOG

TOO BUSY TO BLOG ~ IT WILL CALM DOWN SOON

We have been visiting family and friends since we arrived.  It will calm down, but I've had no time to sit down and even think about blog topics.
The hare and the deer are frequent "visitors" near our camper.  I was very excited to also see an Eastern Bluebird sitting on top of the birdhouse we just put in our yard. I am going to be diligent in getting a picture of my beautiful blue and orange 'friend'. Hopefully he has a mate nearby and soon there will be eggs in the nest that I peeked at today!
